Codex Usage
A free, open-source Android app and home-screen widget that puts remaining Codex usage, reset times, and refresh controls at a glance.

The Problem
Checking Codex usage on a phone meant opening a browser and finding the usage page. We wanted the remaining allowance and reset time visible on the home screen, without a dashboard full of details.
Our Solution
A focused Android app and compact widget show the usage windows returned for your account. Remaining percentage comes first, followed by a progress bar, reset time, and last successful update. A small refresh control keeps the display easy to check.
Simple by design
Codex Usage brings your remaining allowance to your Android home screen. The app shows weekly and five-hour windows when available, along with usage resets and their expiry dates. The widget keeps the essentials close: percentage left, a progress bar, the last update, and refresh.
Sign in with ChatGPT through your browser. Authentication is kept in private app storage, and requests go directly to OpenAI. The app has no ads, paid features, analytics, or getClear-operated backend.
Try the Android beta
The Android beta supports ARM64 phones running Android 8 or newer. An OpenAI account with Codex access is required; the usage limits shown depend on your account. This is a direct-install APK beta, not a Google Play release.
Installation and tester instructions
Open the APK on your phone, allow installation from your browser or Files app if prompted, and launch Codex Usage. Complete Sign in with ChatGPT, then choose Add widget from the app's three-dot menu or your launcher's widget picker.
The widget supports scheduled background refresh, but Android's battery and idle policies can delay updates. Manual refresh is available in both the app and widget. Install later beta APKs over this version to retain your sign-in.
Open source and feedback
The project is licensed under Apache 2.0. The app includes its privacy policy and dependency licenses in the three-dot menu.
